There is an appointed time for everything and there is a time for every event under heaven...a time to search, and a time to give up as lost, a time to keep, a time to throw away, a time to tear apart, and a time to sew together.
–Ecclesiastes 3:1, 6-7

She is not afraid of the snow for her household, for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
–Proverbs 31

I was cold! It was one of those way below zero Vermont nights, the woodstove was blazing, but I just could not get warm. So, I decided to try to get comfortable in one of my wool sweaters. Ah, that got me a little toastier, but my feet were still freezing. I thought to myself, if only I could get this sweater to wrap around my cold feet. That’s when the idea for the wool sweater quilts was born.

With this inspiration I made my first wool sweater quilt. Friends and relatives all wanted one and soon I was selling them as gift items to their friends and relatives. Not long after that some fine Vermont gift shops picked them up and my small business had a good start.
